Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Minute ("we", "us", or "our") is an iOS and macOS application developed and operated by Ryan McDonough. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can contact us at support@getminute.me.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect and process the minimum amount of data necessary to operate the app. Here is a clear breakdown:

Data processed entirely on your device (never sent to us):

• Audio recordings you create
• Transcripts generated from your recordings
• Notes, summaries, and AI-generated outputs
• Speaker labels and conversation participants
• Templates and formatting preferences
• Any data you import into the app

Data we may collect to operate the service:

• Purchase information — processed by Apple via the App Store. We receive confirmation of whether you have an active subscription but not your payment details.
• Crash reports — if you opt in to Apple's automatic diagnostics sharing, anonymous crash logs may be shared with us via Xcode Organiser. These contain no recordings or personal content.
• Support emails — if you contact us by email, we store your email address and the content of your message to respond to you.

3. On-Device Processing

Minute's core value is that all transcription, analysis, and AI processing runs entirely on your device using Apple's Neural Engine and on-device machine learning models. This means:

• Your audio never travels over a network for transcription.
• Your transcripts and notes are stored in your device's local storage.
• If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed from your device.
• There is no Minute server that stores recordings, transcripts, or personal notes.

If you choose to use a cloud-based AI provider in Settings (such as OpenAI or Anthropic), text from your transcripts may be sent to that provider's servers to fulfil your request. This is an explicit, opt-in action. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party provider you enable.

4. Third-Party Services

Minute integrates with the following third parties in limited circumstances:

• Apple App Store & StoreKit — for subscription management and in-app purchases.
• Optional cloud AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) — only if you explicitly enable them in Settings. No data is sent by default.

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics platforms (such as Firebase or Mixpanel), or third-party tracking SDKs.

5. Data Storage and Security

All data created in Minute is stored locally on your device, protected by iOS and macOS built-in encryption. Minute supports Face ID / Touch ID to restrict access when you leave the app.

We do not operate databases containing your recordings or transcripts. We cannot access your data remotely.

6. Children's Privacy

Minute is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

Because we do not store your personal recordings or transcripts on our servers, most data rights (access, deletion, portability) are exercised directly on your device by managing or deleting the app. For any data we do hold (such as support correspondence), you may:

• Request access to data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of Minute after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
